Yesterday my wonderful friends took me out to lunch for my birthday. We went to Kwan's in Salem, my favorite place to eat Chinese Food. My friend, Laura, was sweet enough to volunteer her husband to watch John, so I could actually enjoy my meal. Besides Laura, my friends Heidi, Kim, and Kelly were there to celebrate with me.
I wish I had a scanner to show you the gift that they gave me. Obviously, a couple of them have been reading my blog because on the front of my card was a picture of my dream stroller and inside was some cash to go towards the Dream Stroller Fund. Thanks to my friends, I am that much closer to realizing my dream of pushing a stroller that will hold both a baby and a toddler, while shading them individually, AND gliding smoothly on a swivel wheel. What wonderful friends I have!!! I'm hoping that I can find a place to buy it from, as it seems to be backordered everywhere I look. I must not be the only one who thinks this stroller is the be all and end all in the double stroller universe.
At the end of our meal a plate of fortune cookies was delivered to our table. I reached for mine, opened it, and read my fortune. This is what it said: "Your sense of humor will carry you through these trying times." Slightly prophetic, maybe, but I would like to add that it has been my sense of humor AND my amazing friends (new and old) that seem to get me through most anything that comes my way.
