28 degrees

It's not raining today which means it is very cold. I didn't realize how cold it was until I bundled the kids up and headed out for a walk to the park. Once we got there, John was fascinated with the ice that had formed over the mud puddles, but he didn't want to play -- it was too cold. He asked if we could go to the coffee shop for hot chocolate with whip cream and I obliged. Mike often takes John there when they just want to get out of the house. Unfortunately, they have terrible hours and often are out of things, like the whip cream for John's hot chocolate. John loves to play with the cards that they have sitting out, so we tried building houses with them, and then he made a train with them. We were all glad to get home to our warm house.
