Twenty Minutes

That's how long Charlie slept over the course of the entire day yesterday. Since he has learned to pull himself up on his knees and balance there, his crib has become a virtual playground. When I lay him down, even if he is half-asleep, he will immediately start crawling around and pulling himself up on the bars of the crib. The only time he went to sleep for good (or for a good four hour stretch) was when it was completely dark outside, and, therefore, his room was pitch black, so he couldn't see anything to pull himself up.

I left him in his crib for two, two-hour stretches yesterday, and I could hear him giggling and laughing the entire time. I would go in every twenty minutes or so, and would try and hold him, maybe nurse him, and when he would seem ready to go to sleep, I would lay him in his crib with his blanket. As soon as I did that -- BOING -- he was wide awake and ready to play. This is frustrating when I had him totally trained to fall asleep on his own with the help of his blanket. I'm hoping he'll get bored of his new tricks in the next couple of days. I think we could all use a nap.
