Sunday Recipe -- Muddy Buddies

I found this recipe on the side of a box of cereal. Not only was it totally yummy, but it was probably one of the funnest things I have tried to cook with John. We usually make some treat together about once a week, but he tends to lose interest after about 30 seconds, but this recipe has so many quick steps, that he didn't have time to get bored. I scaled the recipe down so that it wouldn't make very much (I don't like to have large quantities of addictive treats laying around the house -- I want to eat it and be done with it), but feel free to double, triple or quadruple this recipe if you need/want to.

Muddy Buddies
4 cups Chex or Crispix cereal
2 T. butter
1/2 cup chocolate chips
1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2/3 cup powdered sugar

Put butter, chocolate and peanut butter in a large glass bowl. Microwave on High for 30 seconds. Stir and microwave another 30 seconds. Stir until mixture is smooth and add in vanilla. Pour in cereal and stir until well coated. Pour cereal mixture into a gallon size ziploc bag and dump powdered sugar in. Shake until well coated. Spread muddy buddies out on wax paper until cooled.
