First Day of School

The boys started school this week. John began 2nd grade and Charlie is now in Kindergarten. This photo was taken before Sam realized that he would not be joining his brothers at school. It was not pretty when it finally sunk in. They are attending the same charter school that John has gone to for the past four years. It is way, far out of town, but it is a good fit for us. Last year John rode the bus both ways, but this year I have to pick up Charlie after morning kindergarten (yes, we only have kindergarten half-days out here in educationally deplete Oregon). I had intended to do Joy School with Sam for this year, but I eventually decided that this year we are just going to hang out and have fun without the pressure of having to be somewhere at a certain time. So far, I am realizing this is my best decision of the year. Sam has lots of time still to start pre-school.

Can you believe how big the boys are?

I hope you do lots of post about what you do with just you and Sam because my youngest daughter Auri and I are in the same boat and I am trying to come up with cute stuff to do. By the way, your boys are getting quite handsome.

Your boys are growing up into such handsome young boys. I can't believe how old John looks. I think I can see a bit of what he'll look like as a man. (he's outgrowing his baby face)

I bet Sam is loving some of his alone time with his Mama.

Love this picture! You know my thoughts about preschool...no rush, let them be kids and enjoy every second with them while you have them at home! And I had to laugh at your half day kindergarten comment. You could move to AL? It's all day here :)

Happy Birthday today!!

I love that Sam is wearing a backpack. I can only imagine what happened when he clued in to the fact that a backpack does not a kindergartener make. :(
